What inspired you to pursue an online college education, and how did you get started?
I wanted to evolve in life and open doors for better opportunity for myself. I knew I wouldn’t have time to go to school on campus, so I researched online colleges.
What challenges have you faced while pursuing your degree online, and how have you overcome them?
The challenges I faced online were my class zoom discussions, because I would either be at work or over sleep for the morning zooms by me working nights.
How have you balanced your online coursework with other responsibilities, such as work or family?
I had to set myself some goals and put myself on a schedule, because I was a total wreck first starting, but once I kept myself motivated to stick to my schedule. My life got easier.
What have you found to be the benefits of pursuing a college education online, compared to traditional on-campus learning?
Online college gives you more opportunity, because the classes are more convenient and you don’t have to worry about being late for class if something came up.
How have you stayed motivated and engaged in your online classes, and what strategies have you used to ensure your success?
I’ve learned to set myself alarm for everything I had to do on my schedule. Hearing the alarm go off gave me a push and kept me motivated.
What does it signify to you when organizations like Sigma Chi Psi Sorority and Gamma Sigma Gamma Fraternity attempt to bridge the social gap for students who are pursuing their education online?
It open doors and opportunities for students like myself. It gives a sense of belonging, motivation and a self respect for ourselves and others.
What significance do socializing, networking, and participating in events focused on networking and community service hold for you?
It gives the opportunity to learn and help others.
