What inspired you to pursue an online college education, and how did you get started?
What inspired me to pursue online education is because it fits easily with my job. I can work on my classes at my own speed. The reason why I got started in college was because I was looking for a change in my life. I felt like I experienced events in my life that made me want to pursue school and start a legacy for myself.
What challenges have you faced while pursuing your degree online, and how have you overcome them?
I think the main challenge is, not being in school for over a decade. It’s relearning everything you forgotten about. College is by far the most complicated thing ever but the outcome is going to make everything worth it.
How have you balanced your online coursework with other responsibilities, such as work or family?
The first year, I’m not going to lie, I didn’t. I think balancing life as a freshman is hard enough. My second year, I have found balance. School is priority to me. I’m learning to make sure nobody is neglected or feeling neglected.
What have you found to be the benefits of pursuing a college education online, compared to traditional on-campus learning?
Again, the flexibility. I love college education online. I’ve never been on traditional campus. I think if I did, I would still choose online over it. You become less distracted while working online.
How have you stayed motivated and engaged in your online classes, and what strategies have you used to ensure your success?
I have stayed motivated and engaged. The best thing I try to do is not procrastinate. I think every college kid has this dilemma and I just get my work done asap to avoid any mishaps over the semester.
What does it signify to you when organizations like Sigma Chi Psi Sorority and Gamma Sigma Gamma Fraternity attempt to bridge the social gap for students who are pursuing their education online?
I think it’s amazing. You guys don’t know how many women and men lives you’re changing. It’s a beautiful feeling to be able to do something you’ve always wanted to do. It’s nice to know that whatever age you are or what school you’re going to, you can still live out every possibilities with this sorority.
What significance does socializing, networking, and participating in events focused on networking and community service hold for you?
It really means a lot. Giving back to your community with your sisterhood is already amazing enough. I think being in a sisterhood where you feel like family already says enough.
Thank you again for being part of The Digital Connection. Your voice adds depth and meaning to this series, and we’re honored to share your perspective. We look forward to amplifying your story and continuing to build a platform that reflects the diverse journeys of online learners everywhere.
