Sigma Chi Psi Celebrates First National In-Person Community Service Initiative

Sigma Chi Psi Sorority proudly reflects on a major milestone: the successful execution of its first National In-Person Community Service Initiative, held in partnership with Habitat for Humanity on May 18, 2024. Though nearly a year has passed, the impact of this landmark moment continues to shape how online college students connect, serve, and grow together beyond the screen.

As the first sorority intentionally built to support online college students, Sigma Chi Psi broke new ground by bringing members together from across the nation to participate in a unified day of service. Organized by the sorority’s Regional Committees and backed by the National Leadership Team, the initiative was a shining example of what’s possible when vision meets action—even for students who often navigate higher education from a distance.

From local meetups and volunteering efforts to donations and hands-on builds with Habitat for Humanity, Sigma Chi Psi members embodied sisterhood, service, and solidarity. National President Nakia Shy, Vice President Caryn Wyatt, and National Operations Officer Ebony Hinton extend sincere gratitude to every member and supporter who made this initiative a success.
